Just one block from Madison Square Garden, Hoops Cabaret and Sports Bar is New York’s first topless sports bar. When I visited recently, all three floors were packed with a variety of patrons — including some big-name pro athletes — and enough gorgeous entertainers to fill a small stadium. The exotic dancers and waitresses wore an eye-catching variety of cheerleader outfits and sports jerseys. Filled with state-of-the-art video and sound systems for watching games from across the globe, Hoops truly has something for every sports fan.
Everyone seemed right at home in the club’s dazzling main lounge, which is designed like a slick basketball court. The lounge’s centerpiece is an elevated platform/stripper pole that looks like a huge basketball net. As I relaxed in one of the club’s cushy leather chairs, I got an amazing dance from a girl in a Jets outfit.
Among the celebrities I spotted were Howard Stern Show character “Ronnie the Limo Driver” and ex-NY Giants star Antonio Pierce, both of whom seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely with a bevy of beautiful Hoops gals in the upstairs “Man Cave,” an enclave of awesomeness that has to be seen to be believed.
The club features a number of amenities that I really love, including a full service premium bar with a huge beer selection; delicious food (the mac and cheese bites are incredible!); and VIP skybox suites with big screen HDTVs.
Hoops Cabaret is a game changer that fuses the fun of a sports bar with the electricity of a gentlemen’s club. Check the club out for yourself at 48 West 33rd Street. (Hoops is next door to its sister club, the world famous Rick’s Cabaret.) It’s open 4 PM-4 AM on weekdays and 12 PM-4 AM on weekends.
